Provolone is an Italian cheese, it is a DOP appellation, a full fat cow's milk cheese with a smooth skin, produced mainly in the Po River Valley regions of Lombardy and Veneto produced in two versions, Dolce (sweet) with a very mild taste and piccante (strong), aged for a minimum of four months and with a very sharp taste.
This slice of Provolone Dolce, naturally lactose free, is perfect for antipasti platters served with Italian charcuterie or in panini, where it melts very well. The Provolone can also be used for baked pasta dishes, even grated, and on pizzas or to accompany a glass of red wine.
Fattorie Cremona was founded in 1933 in the heart of the Po Valley by 19 farmers that decided to come together to better respond to the individual challenges. Since then, the groups has grown and Fattorie Cremona has become a cooperative focused on the production of milk and cheeses.
Fattorie Cremona is located in a perfect, ideal location, in the middle of both, the Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano PDO areas, thus producing two of the most famous Italian cheeses together with the Provolone, another little know but very famous nationally, cheese.
