Why we love it

Su' Luci is a dessert wine from the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT appellation. Obtained from the native Sardinian aromatic Nasco grape, this passito represents the pinnacle of finesse and elegance, establishing itself as one of Sardinia's finest sweet wines in recent years.

Su' Luci originates from meticulously cultivated vineyards with a high vine density of five thousand per hectare, resulting in exceptionally low yields of approximately thirty quintals. The grapes are hand-harvested in multiple stages between late August and early September, ensuring optimal ripeness for each bunch. The must, in contact with the skins, undergoes initial fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 16°C, continuing until natural cessation. The wine then ages in stainless steel for eight months before bottling and final refinement.

Su' Luci presents a rich and intense bouquet, brimming with notes of dried apricots, pineapple, peaches in syrup, and dried orange peel. Floral hints of orange blossom and freesia intertwine with the alluring sweetness of orange honey and beeswax. On the palate, the wine's sweetness and softness are perfectly balanced by refreshing acidity and vibrant flavors. Citrus and aromatic notes linger, inviting another sip.

Su' Luci is a delightful companion to a variety of desserts, including pineapple charlotte, Greek yogurt with peaches, and peach cheesecake. Its sweetness also complements the savory complexity of blue cheese and goat cheese. Alternatively, savor Su' Luci as a meditation wine, allowing its intricate layers to unfold.

The artisan who made it

Nestled amidst the picturesque, rolling hills of Marmilla, Sardinia, Su’entu presents a captivating 90-hectare estate—a true testament to the region's rich viticultural heritage and commitment to sustainable agriculture. This sprawling estate, a harmonious blend of nature and human artistry, encompasses sun-drenched vineyards, flourishing olive groves, and a vibrant garden, all contributing to the unique character of Su’entu wines.

Of the 90 hectares, 40 are dedicated to meticulously cultivated vineyards, where native Sardinian grape varietals thrive under the Mediterranean sun. The vineyards' proximity to the sea ensures a constant caress of saline-rich breezes, imbuing the grapes with a distinctive tang that defines Su’entu’s exceptional wines. This unique terroir, a crucial element in Sardinian wine production, is carefully preserved through sustainable practices.

Su’entu’s commitment to quality is evident in their meticulous grape harvesting process. Night-time hand harvesting, a labor of love, ensures optimal ripeness and preserves the unique terroir of each vineyard. Each wine produced is crafted from grapes grown in specific crus, or vineyard plots, showcasing the distinct characteristics of the native Sardinian varietals cultivated.

Su’entu’s dedication to sustainability extends far beyond their vineyards. They believe in fostering a legacy of expertise and passion by training local youth under the guidance of their experienced agronomist. This commitment to community and environmental stewardship ensures the preservation of Marmilla’s viticultural heritage for generations to come.
