Volcanic wines have been trendy for a few years now, they have unique characteristics that makes them sought after, they are different, they taste different even to the novice wine drinker, they have an extra gear. Grapes grown in volcanic soil produces different, richer, more complex wines, with more elegance and freshness. Volcanic wines tend to have complex noses, higher acidity, earthy flavours and big structure; when properly made volcanic wines are great and can be drunk young or aged for years, reds as well as whites.
This mixed case is about the Italian Volcanos, Etna and Vesuvius, and whilst Etna wines have been appreciated for some time, Vesuvius' wines are still little known to the wider audience mainly due their very limited production, the area is much smaller compared to the Etna appellation.
Our selection includes 2 bottles of Piedirosso and Etna Bianco and one each of Etna Rosso and Caprettone, 3 whites and 3 reds. If you haven't tasted volcanic wines yet, this is the perfect occasion to discover them.
