Aglianico "5 mesi" takes the name from the ageing, wood ageing, 5 months, in barrels to add structure and complexity resulting in a red wine with a complex nose where the characteristic nose of the aglianico is enriched by the additional spicy notes deriving from the ageing. On the palate, the wine is full, balaned, warm, with soft tannins and a long aftertaste.
This aged aglianico is excellent with meats and roasts but can accompany pasta as well as semi mature cheeses.
The artisan who made it
The story of Tralci Hirpini is a story of friendship, a story that is intertwined with that of a fertile and difficult territory, Irpinia, aka land of the wolf, with rolling hills and immense green spaces. Tralci Hirpini are three friends that believe in respecting nature and in the pursuit of excellence, attention to detail and in continuous experimentation.
Today, among the vineyards of these fertile land with a strong wine-growing vocation, where the Aglianico vine has found its natural habitat and gives its best expressions, Tralci Hirpini is tradition and modernity. Tralci Hirpini is Fiano and their Fiano di Avellino, Greco and their Greco di Tufo and Falanghina, Tralci Hirpici is much more than Aglianico in the most vocated area.
