The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is a wine obtained from the Trebbiano grape grown in the Abruzzo region. The trebbiano abruzzese is a grape belonging to the large Trebbiano family and is very similar to Biancame, which in turn comes from Trebbiano Toscano, one of the most widely cultivated white grape varieties in central Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Lazio and Abruzzo).
Trebbiano Abruzzese presents clear differences from other Trebbianos and produces wines with a straw yellow color, with greenish reflections when young, with good acidity, light and not very structured. Their aromas are floral and fruity and when tasting you find the same olfactory sensations, then moving on to the typical and nuanced aftertaste of bitter almond. Trebbiano Abruzzese can show great qualities if grown with low yields and vinified with care.
Depending on the harvest period, the methodology and the winemaking technologies, it can give both wines of great longevity, structure and body, probably unthinkable for a white wine, and others more ready to drink, with very fresh fruity notes, good intensity and medium complexity.
