Montepulciano is mainly associated with Abruzzo and the
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo but the grape is widely grown, from Marche to Molise to Apulia but Marche is the only other region that has DOC wines made with Montepulciano.
Nobilnero, black aristocrat in Italian, is a fantastic red wine made with Montepulciano grapes from a single and old vineyard located at above 250 m.a.s.l facing the sea, aged for up to 20 months, depending on the vintage, in barrels with a production of around 2000 bottles per vintage and only when the vintage allows it.
This Montepulciano wine has a big and complex nose, with black fruit hints, on the palate is smooth, soft and velvety, balanced, a meditation wine or a wine for important courses or medium mature cheeses. This is a wine for wine lovers that are looking for something different, unique and unknown great wines, a wine worth to be discovered.
The Marche is a region where growing grapes is relatively simple due to the perfect climate, with scenic mountains and a calming sea to protect the vines. Regardless of these ideal surroundings, Luciano Landi and his sons, as well as his father before him, decided they wanted to aim for quality rather than quantity and decided to concentrate their efforts in only a few hectares of vineyards from which they grow native grapes such as the Verdicchio and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba but also Syrah and Montepulciano for their top wines.
