Made with Ribolla Gialla, a native grape from Friuli Venezia Giulia, this white wine is fresh, refreshing, with an elegant nose with floral notes and a gentle and elegant palate.
This Ribolla Gialla is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany risotto, fish dishes, white meat and omelets.
The artisan who made it
Vigna Petrussa is a family run winery situated in the heart of the Schioppettino wine region, in the small village of Albana di Prepotto, lying among the gentle hills surrounding the Judrio river's valley. Forming a natural amphitheater, this stunning area is also ideal for wine growing, thanks to the drafts that keep the vines dry and temperature differences between day and night allowing the development of elegant aromas in the grapes.
The marl soil (called "ponka") dating back to the Eocene era crumbles in the rain and the sun, therefore enriching the soil with mineral salts and microelements which are fundamental for wine growing, in particular for the Schioppettino grape and the grapes, native grapes, are planted at a very low density and the harvest is done manually. For the Picolit and Richenza wines, the grapes are partially dried on drying racks.
