Why we love it
Terruas Vermentino is a Vermentino di Cagliari DOC Superiore, a newly created denomination from the Sardinia Region, the flagship of the winery together with Terruas Cannonau.
The grapes are hand-harvested in early September, capturing the perfect balance of acidity, sugars, and aromatic intensity. To enhance complexity, 20% of the fermenting must is transferred to oak tonneaux, while the remaining 80% ages in stainless steel with regular batonnage, enriching the wine with fine lees contact.
Terruas Vermentino Superiore boasts a complex and elegant nose, revealing ripe yellow fruit like nectarine peach and cantaloupe, tropical pineapple, and candied citrus peel. Floral notes of orange blossom and freesia intertwine with hints of white pepper and pastry. On the palate, a sumptuously soft entry gives way to vibrant freshness and intense flavor, with lingering notes of mango, lemon curd, and ginger.
This Vermentino Superiore elevates complex and elegant dishes. Pair it with tagliatelle with duck ragù, baked John Dory with potatoes, or white vegetables cooked in butter. For a daring pairing, try it with traditional panettone, highlighting its versatility.
This Vermentino Superiore is only produced in the best vintages and in very limited quantity.
