Why we love it
Pecorino has quickly become a favorite among white wine lovers, earning its place as a flagship varietal of Abruzzo. Native to central Italy and now widely cultivated in the Abruzzo region, Pecorino is gaining recognition as an alternative to Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo’s signature white wine.
This Pecorino is obtained from grapes grown in sun-drenched vineyards just a short distance from the Adriatic Sea. The coastal influence is unmistakable, on the nose, the wine bursts with aromas of white fruit, especially ripe peach, a hallmark of the varietal. On the palate, the proximity to the sea delivers a fuller, rounder mouthfeel, adding depth and elegance.
Versatile and food-friendly, this Pecorino is perfect for sipping on its own or pairing with seafood, white meats, or Mediterranean dishes. As its popularity continues to rise, Pecorino is solidifying its status as a must try white wine from Abruzzo.
The artisan who made it

After gaining wine making experience abroad and in Italy, working in some of the best wineries, both Donvitantonio’s grandsons, Antonio and Simone decided to go back home, to their roots, and take over Nonno Donvitantonio vineyards and start bottling their own grapes, until them, the grapes were sold to the local cooperatives. Antonio and Simone are the 3rd generation and their mission is to value and promote indigenous grapes.
