Why we love it
Ideal in combination with cheeses and white meats, this organic squash and ginger chutney has a delicate, mild flavour. Made with peeled organic squash and blended to make the chutney creamy and spreadable, it is then slow cooked with ginger and orange peel.
Squashes are known to be rich in magnesium, fight constipation and rich in fiber and ginger has antiemetic, digestive and anti-inflammatory properties.
The artisan who made it
Located in Emilia Romagna, in the province of Modena, in a natural oasis, the Punto Verde, “green point” in Italian, farm extends over 10 hectares of land cultivated by combining tradition with the most advanced techniques of organic agriculture.
Wife and husband, Chiara and Manuele, their daughter Laura and their families, grow cherries, plums, apricots, pears, apples and peaches only to mention a few, together with strawberries, figs, pumpkins all according to the organic philosophy, fruit and vegetables that are used in their products, from juices to chutneys to jams to tomato sauce, following old family recipes, secretly kept, handed down generation to generation.
Punto Verde is a small farm and their production follow the seasons, respecting the nature and biodiversity.
